What are the types of fillings ?
Basically, fillings are of two types – Tooth colored fillings & Metallic fillings.
Which is better among them ?
Both are good in their own ways. If the filling is given in the posterior teeth where esthetics is not a major concern, then metallic fillings are better ; whereas if the teeth involved is in the smile-line or there is an esthetic demand then tooth colored fillings are a wiser choice. Although tooth colored fillings are not as strong as metallic fillings, today with advances in chemistry, tooth colored fillings are more popular and preferred amongst patients.
